When the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) was founded in 1992, it had only one Legislative Council member, Tam Yiu-chung. In the 2025 Legislative Council election, the alliance won a total of 20 seats.

The Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) loves the country and Hong Kong and has always been concerned about the country's development. It actively sends representatives to participate in the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) to participate in national affairs and offer suggestions for national policies.

Our Goal
The mission of the DAB's Hong Kong NPC deputies and CPPCC members is to represent Hong Kong residents in national affairs, listen to public opinions, bridge central and local communication, and assist locals with mainland-related matters.
In 2022, seven members of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) were elected as deputies to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), and nine members were elected as members of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). We are keenly aware of the heavy responsibilities ahead. To better perform our duties in the NPC and CPPCC, contribute to the nation, and serve the people of Hong Kong, the DAB established the "DAB NPC and CPPCC Office" (hereinafter referred to as the "Office") on February 12, 2023.
Policy research

To grasp the national situation, pay attention to the current status and changes in the country's politics, economy, culture and social system, and offer opinions and suggestions to the central government on relevant policies, especially on issues related to Hong Kong.

During the annual Two Sessions, suggestions and proposals concerning issues involving both Hong Kong and the mainland are submitted to various sectors of Hong Kong society, and the situation is followed up in a timely manner after the sessions.
Responding to inquiries and requests

Set up hotlines, emails, and websites to receive inquiries and requests for assistance from Hong Kong residents regarding specific issues in mainland China, and we will classify and process them accordingly.

To reflect to the mainland the cases of Hong Kong people seeking help on mainland issues, and to follow up and provide feedback to the people seeking help.
Guidelines for accepting requests for assistance or complaints from Hong Kong residents regarding matters in the Mainland
(1) The party seeking help must be:

If a Hong Kong resident experiences such an incident in mainland China and files a complaint with the mainland government and relevant departments, or is treated unfairly during mainland judicial proceedings, or files an appeal against a judicial ruling, this is a valid complaint.
(3) Evidence:

Please provide a signed letter of appeal. For cases involving requests for assistance or complaints that have already been handled through petitions or judicial procedures by the mainland government and relevant departments, please provide relevant legal documents or evidence. The claims made must be supported by basic evidentiary materials.
Community engagement

To connect with various groups and individuals in Hong Kong, to convey and explain national policies and work to people from all walks of life in Hong Kong, and to regularly conduct exchanges and collect opinions from all sectors of Hong Kong society.
Responsibilities
As Hong Kong is an integral part of China, we are naturally interdependent. Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) has actively shouldered the responsibility of serving as a bridge between the two places. Many DAB members are deputies to the National People's Congress, members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and CPPCC members at various levels. We leverage this strength to advance cross-border affairs and conduct research on mainland affairs closely related to Hong Kong, striving to submit proposals to the central government and relevant mainland departments during the annual Two Sessions.
