DAB Business and Professional Branch visits The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong
21 August 2026
LegCo Member Holden Chow, DAB Vice‑Chairman and Chairperson of the Branch and Professional Branch, together with Deputy Chairperson Rex Ip, branch committee members and representatives of the Sha Tin Branch, visited the Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong on 20 August.

The group was welcomed by Chief Executive Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, MH and Deputy Chief Executive Mr. Cheung Chun‑hoi, who briefed them on the hospital's latest services.
The visit highlighted the hospital's newly launched "Post‑stroke Care Programme", which integrates Chinese and Western medicine in a Chinese medicine‑led approach. It offers two plans, which are available as government‑subsidised and market‑oriented services.
Outpatient Chinese medicine services cover acute and chronic conditions, health maintenance, and treatments including herbal prescriptions, acupuncture, tuina, cupping and moxibustion.

DAB Vice‑Chairperson and LegCo Member Holden Chow hailed the Hospital’s post‑stroke rehabilitation services and advanced facilities as timely and effective. With an ageing population and rising stroke cases, he said such services would help ease public hospital pressures while meeting growing rehabilitation needs.
He also voiced hope that the Hospital would serve as an international flagship, demonstrating TCM’s efficacy in stroke recovery and promoting its global standing.
Branch Deputy Chairperson Rex Ip noted that the visit gave members valuable insight into the Hospital’s smart service planning, highlighting the potential for TCM standardisation and modernisation to expand preventive and rehabilitative care options.
The Branch will continue to push for supportive TCM policies and help the Hospital maximize its capacity to benefit more patients.
